Extra Credit Assignment

Please be aware that both physical science and chemistry classes will have a final examination before summer. This test will cover all material learned during the second semester. Students will not be allowed to use notes on this test. All students will have periodic table, equation sheet, calculator, and any other document that is consistent with materials used by other classes.

This exam will be 20% of the students second semester grade.

Year average = (Semester 1 grade + Semester 2 grade) /2

Semester 2 grade = (3rd nine weeks X 0.4) + (4th nine weeks X 0.4) + (Semester Exam X 0.2)

Second semester students may only receive 50 extra credit points from article reviews.

Students may retake quizzes and tests if they make lest than 70%. Their retake grade can bring their assignment grade to no more than a 70%

All homework assignments can be redone for full credit.

After Chapter 9 (Chemistry) all chemistry students will be able to do a  chemistry extra credit assignment for an additional 50 points.

Students are allowed

1. Multiple attempts at redoing Homework assignments to improve their grade. 

2. Retakes on Tests and Quizzes to bring up their grade to 70%.

3. Open notes on Tests.

4. Unlimited Extra Credit. 

 

I am available Tuesday & Thursday mornings from 6:15 to 6:45 for tutoring and after school upon request. 

 

Please understand that your child’s grade is a direct reflection of their effort .

Students have been given an information sheet on Extra Credit. I allow them to do an Unlimited amount of extra credit so there is no excuse as to their grade not being what they want it to be. If you have questions about this please email me. 

Students that do not get at least a 3 out of 5 on homework are required to do another attempt until they are successful. Academic support will be given for students that do not do so. 

I have updated Powerschool and all assignments, Quizzes, and Test dates are entered. 

Students that miss tests or quizzes should make an appointment with me to make up missed work before or after school.
